Welcome!      Bienvenue!

Welcome to École Robert Browning School's homepage.
École Robert Browning School is an early years (K-5) French Immersion school in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
It has a Kindergarten to Grade 5 population of approximately 300 students.  View a map showing our location.

French Immersion is an alternative program in the St. James school division.
École Robert Browning therefore takes responsibility for introducing the majority of parents to an educational form they have not experienced.
An open-door policy is a positive means of helping parents understand how students learn a second language in an immersion school.
Although the school is administered in French, all communication with parents is in English.
The academic program at École Robert Browning is enhanced by studies in both English and French.
Instruction in French occurs in all subject areas except English Language Arts, which is introduced at the Grade 1 level.
Child-centred teachers work in grade-level teams for planning and instruction purposes.
These cooperative measures ensure continuity of academic content and student expectations from one grade level to the next.
Ongoing and open communication between parents and school is a priority. This communication is facilitated through Parent Council meetings, the school newsletters and our web site.
Parents receive first-hand information about teacher and program expectation within the first few weeks of school and are provided with a program overview that acts as a yearly guide at each grade level. Parents are also encouraged to participate actively as volunteers and mentors.

École Robert Browning has high student expectations and promotes a high standard of student work with respect and tolerance of others. We are committed to a quality immersion program in English and French, Mathematics, Science, Technology, and social skills development. École Robert Browning takes pride in many initiatives currently underway in the school.  École Robert Browning emphasizes responsibility and self-motivation in an environment that is both structured and nurturing. Students have achieved recognition for thei academic and social efforts in the community as well as in the province.
